Environmental Microbiology Laboratory
The purpose of the Environmental Microbiology Laboratory is to introduce microorganisms encountered in the field of environmental engineering and to teach how to perform microbiological examinations of these organisms. For this purpose, it is to define the types and activities of microorganisms that play a role in water and wastewater treatment, and to perform bacteriological analysis and controls of water to be used as drinking water. Equipment and materials used in the environmental microbiology laboratory:

1) Incubator
2) Autoclave
3) Balances
4) Microscope
5) Petri dishes
6) Test tubes
7) Needle, loop
8) Glassware
9) Cover-slip
10) Graduated pipette

Environmental Chemistry Laboratory
The Environmental Chemistry course is an important course that includes theoretical knowledge and practical applications, spread over two terms as ÇEV 215 Environmental Chemistry I and ÇEV 206 Environmental Chemistry II. A total of 20 experiments are conducted in the Environmental Chemistry Laboratories in both semesters, where the practical information learned in the course is reinforced with practice. The experiments conducted in the Environmental Chemistry Laboratories are given in the table.

Environmental Chemistry I Laboratory Environmental Chemistry II Laboratory
Solution Preparation Determination of Dissolved Oxygen
Acid-Base Titration Determination of Biochemical Oxygen Demand
Chromatography Determination of Chemical Oxygen Demand
pH, Conductivity and CO2 Determination Determination of Phosphate
Determination of Acidity and Alkalinity Determination of Residual Chlorine
Determination of Hardness and Ca2+ - Mg2+ Determination of Solid Matter
Determination of Sulfate Determination of Nitrate
Determination of Chloride Determination of Nitrite
Photometric Methods and Determination of Color and Turbidity Determination of Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen
Determination of Sodium and Potassium with Flame Photometer Determination of Oil and Grease

In order to perform the above mentioned experiments, our laboratory has sensitive There are many devices such as scales, filtration sets, kjeldahl nitrogen devices, oxytope devices, magnetic stirrers, ovens, desiccators, pH meters, conductivity meters, turbidity meters, thermo reactors, spectrophotometers and mantle heaters.

Unit Operations Laboratory
There are specially designed experimental sets in the Unit Operations Laboratory on precipitation, softening of water with the lime-soda method, oxygen transfer and ventilation, ion exchange, active carbon adsorption, vacuum evaporator and sludge dewatering. In this laboratory, students have the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge they have, especially on wastewater treatment, by applying it in experimental sets.
